(file photo) print by Shelly Swanke Posted on January 17, 2013 at 9:16 PM Portland -- Oregon Air National Guard fighter jets were called up Thursday night to escort and Alaska Air flight into Sea-Tac after a hijack threat had been called in. But now it seems this all may have been a hoax. Alaska Air flight 819 took off from Hawaii flying to Seattle. The FBI office received a tip of a passenger on board the plane was planning to hijack the flight. NORAD scrambled fighter jets from the Portland Air Base. They flew alongside the aircraft until it landed in Seattle about 7 pm. FBI agents and the Port of Seattle police escorted a man off the plane without incident and detained him for questioning. But according to NBC sources, the man had slept through most o9f the flight and the crew on board said nothing out of the ordinary happened during the flight and they were never in any danger. Some passengers said they didn't know anything was happening until the plane stopped before the terminal to let police and FBI officials on board.
