Bob, I still own Intel for the dividend, and don't pay much attention to the share price. I do own much more Apple, and would really like to see them work out a fab deal. More for Apple than for Intel... though I think it would be a big plus for Intel as well.

Samsung/Apple is a marriage made in hell. I think Intel is the only other company that could meet Apples mobile production volumes, on time and with decent yields. And it doesn't bother my admittedly provincial prejudice that they are both US companies.

Intel TV? IMHO way outside their core competency. They don't know an interface from intercourse. But cutting edge process tech, nobody better. They need to get over their NIH mindset and do what they do best, make great chips in volume for the people who sell great devices in volume. Even if it means cutting their GM % a little.
