May be the new owners have plans to turn this site into FB or Linkedin of Independent Investors.. The space is fragmented, membership limited and there have been noise that some Brokers are tweaking their platform to do just that for their account holders so with a new version of .com bubble in social media space, some one may have decided to see what they can do in this space which is under the radar.. Just my .02
