Hmm. I think Fear is going away.

A phone app is a lot easier to learn than say a high end 3D software package.

In addition, conventional controls are becoming more standardized.

My take is that Google AND Microsoft have both realized that ease of use is a huge incentive. They are spending the money now and the experts they are hiring are finally getting respect.

This is a pretty revolutionary change for Microsoft. Less so for Google. Google gave usability some respect at the start, then lost their way, but my guess is they've rediscovered the importance of it. Maybe Microsoft's new operating system put the fear of god into them.

Browsers work the same no matter what the platform. The cloud is getting easier.

Let us hope that Ive makes ease of use as important as it should be.
