The real initial benefits with a [OLED] flexible display will be getting an unbreakable display. Long-term, the holy grail is getting a foldable display. That opens up all kinds of new possibilities.
Yes. Unbreakable is a marginally desirable attribution. Not much of a head turner, though.

Foldable displays? Like clamshell phones with screens across the inside? It would still have to be thin when folded and that might shorten the life of the OLED screen.

I just can't imagine an application in phones that would be a runaway market leader. The devices are defined by the public's conformance to previously established pocket sizes. The phone is supposed to disappear within the clothing until it's needed.

The scroll screen might be a viable product with freedom from keyboards and touch screens.
