Another way to view this conflict is that in order to put the country on a sustainable course, the GOP must be neutralized
I don't see this as necessarily an attack on the GOP as much as an imperative to salvage the country
The fact that GOP policies are based on advancing special interests whose objectives are not aligned with the good of the country, necessitates their rejection
If the GOP opts to fall on that sword, in order to try and ban abortion, delegitimize gay marriage, protect gun makers, repeal Obamacare, privatize Social Security, defund Medicare, steal elections, wreck the economy, ad nauseum...
They will have done it to themselves
The fact that it is Obama's job to advance policies that conflict with these positions and the very advocacy of those alternatives might serve to marginalize the GOP is not an intentional attempt to destroy the Republican Party on his part
They picked their poison
If they can't sell it and won't change, that is suicide, not murder |
