It matters a hell of a lot when someone threatens your job. Ignoring is a lot easier to deal with.

After reading the rest of your screed, it is pretty clear you are trying to change the subject.

Here we are some 3 decades later and we finally gotten to the point of being able to shoot down a single ICBM. No way we are anywhere close to shooting down a mass attack like the goal is. Will we be able to able to do that in another 30 years? No way of telling. Especially in the light of all you need is about 3 going off at the edge of the atmosphere. The result EMP will for all intents and purposes destroy the country.

So I'd say uncle Carl was pretty close. Overstated, perhaps. But not totally wrong.

And it doesn't stop proliferation. ICBMs are not the only delivery system.
