The acquisition of Silicon Investor has all the earmarks of preceding a monetization effort.

The probabilities are we are looking at either ads, or fees or charges to avoid them, or both, in order to retain posting privileges.

I agree with your above assessment.

I am a retired and successful businessman of 20 years I can safely say that I never invested a dime into anything that I did not intend to make a profit from.

Being a long time member of SI and now seeing new owner number 5, I can say that I am not willing to give up anything or pay more or be bothered by ads. I will simply walk away and put up a FREE investment forum at my own expense and use it as a tax write off. No ads, no Admin (posters with admin their boards) and no membership fees.
