In addition to your point, Dylan, remember that the Mac is still the dominant Web development platform out there, regardless of how 'cheap' FrontPage is. The folks I know who create Web content using Macs practically speak HTML, SHTML, and VRML like second languages. They would have little patience for a program that didn't let them get in and run their fingers through the code.

On a Mac, you can create much slicker Web content much more quickly using, for instance, Photoshop, BBEdit, and a program like Fetch or Anarchie to transfer your files back and forth to the server. BBEdit (Lite), Fetch, and Anarchie can all be had for less than a $20 shareware fee...probably less than that. Unless you're really hard core and you use a UNIX-based text editor like PICO to write your code. Photoshop will cost you a bundle, but if you're serious about publishing for the Web you can't proceed without it.

But of course if you want point-and-click button access to things like hard rules and image source tags, FrontPage is probably perfect for you. Be aware, however, that this ease of use really ends up costing you in the style department once you get your page online. Some of the coolest non-commercial sites I've ever seen were made using BBEdit. Take note as you cruise the Web.

Go Apple.
