Hell, after 50 years of the great society, democrats have created a system hindering blacks from becoming successful. Look at your party's treatment of successful black conservatives who have proven blacks don't need to vote for a democrat to get ahead.
MLK didn't ask for quotas. MLK didn't ask for blacks to bypass college entrance requirements to college because they are black. MLK didn't ask for black Panthers intimidating voters in Philadelphia with baseball bats and guns to be given a get out of jail free card. MLK even acknowledged whites who were marching with him. MLK wasn't demanding I write him a check, he was demanding equality.
You should read about General Sherman giving freed slaves 40 acres and a mule then your President Andrew Johnson vetoing the decision giving the land back to the white plantation owners.
