Hi Wayners; It's hard to imagine that the average person would leave working guns where they knew that a disturbed person could get a hold of them but I've seen that sort of thing go on. I myself would be inclined to simply remove the firing pins, but if I knew the disturbed person had some mechanical ability I'd go further. Recognizing a missing firing pin (when it's not stored near the weapon) and correctly installing it is beyond a lot of people's mechanical ability.
