Jorj, you must be a young person. As such, perhaps no one has ever bothered to expose you to the following "life truth":

There are 2 kinds of "pay:" intrinsic and non-intrinsic.

If the intrinsic pay is NOT enough, then the non-intrinsic payoff has to be great enough for some one to continue association with, or volitional participation in, or perpetuation of to continue in existing behavior.

Only when inadequate intrinsic pay is coupled with inadequate non-intrinsic pay (benefit) does change occur, at least in the westernized capitalistic "business model."

Brad has never let any of us (of whom I'm aware) inside his head/heart/business plan/goals/dreams enough to know what his "non-intrinsic pay/benefit package was for SI Ownership A period and SI Ownership C period" which has now been deemed inadequate, thus necessitating his personal decision to change SI ownership. He DID speak to some of reasons why he re-acquired SI. I know I was pleased at his re-acquisition.

And we'll never know what his non-intrinsic pay cut-off point/or change was. That's private, and should remain that way. He does not owe any of us any reasons for his personal business decisions.

But Brad did make it clear from the git-go, this new guy was involved in the SI buy-out TO MAKE MONEY. And Brad made it clear at the time of the announcement that LACK OF INTRINSIC PAYMENT for Brad just wasn't tolerable anymore.

Therefore, we've been set up,
we know it,
and the newbie's profit-making motive has now been adequately revealed by both seller Brad, and buyer Dmitry. There is no anger in this pragmatic assessment. It is what it is.

Now WE as individual SI contributors --regardless of length of association with SI--get to decide if and when
OUR NON-intrinsic pay levels drop sufficiently for us
individually or collectively
to peel off and move elsewhere, scatter, or whatever.

It is the cycle of internet life. Brad is following his bliss and pursuing his capitalistic dreams. No one faults him for that, least of all me.

I will follow my non-SI bliss if and when the non-intrinsic pay for hanging around here with friends, and trusted info and TA contacts and resources I've made over the last almost 20 years don't add up anymore for the exchange of my time, and for whatever value my contribution is around here.

Telle est la vie capitaliste.
