about the only time i find the VIX usefull is when it gets extreme to the upside. look at that chart. it spent three years in this range from 2004 on. not saying it is going to hapen again, but with big brother doing all they can to throw money at shit, it might just be the norm for awhile. OR we start a market crash and never have an up day again !!!! LOL
