1/18/13 Contest Update
Another iBad week for Apple held back the Nasdaq Composite Index, but biotech Bears remained in hibernation. At Friday’s close, the Contest median was up 6.17% YTD (vs. up 5.94% YTD a week ago), while the Nasdaq Biotech Index was up 6.60% (vs. up 5.54% YTD a week ago). And even with the Apple drag, the Nasdaq Composite Index finished the week up 4.31% YTD (vs. up 3.82% YTD a week ago).
How does he do it? RKRW’s portfolio took the the Contest lead with a 23.93% YTD gain. But No. 2, MOPGCW’s portfolio, up 22.50% YTD, and No. 3, FILO’s portfolio, up 22.30% YTD, are both well within striking distance.
At Friday's close, 35 of the 39 Contest portfolios were in the black with 18 of the 39 beating the NBI.
