Just finished an excellent book by Kenneth Humphreys ("Jesus Never Existed") showing the history of Christianity and how the myth of Jesus got smuggled into the stories. Jesus Ben Stada actually was crucified and Jesus Barabbas actually does mean "Son of the Father"! There were thousands of Jesus's but nothing corresponds to the Jesus of Nazareth fellow. (Jesus ben Pandira may well have founded the sect of the Essenes). All the events in his life (the horse thief and the fig killer) actually occurred in other ancient myth figures. And "Nazareth" did not exist before the second century. The Talmud names 63 Galilean towns but knows nothing of Nazareth. The book of Joshua knew nothing of it. Paul had never heard of it. No ancient historian or Geographer ever mentions it--not until the 4th century. All myth. Get the book. Over 500 pages of intriguing facts...
