LOL.. I don't know....why is dark gas cloud matter in space colder than other clouds of gas in the absolute zero temperature of space...you don't see lightning in space do you? It has something to do with the release of energy due to this temperature change...induction not insulation, electron density and I assume path of least resistance...I have no clue to these mysteries of electromagnetic force... I'm a fisherman sort of.<g> The key was the original attractor of the lightning discharge...it did not gather the electricity...no nonconductors can extract the saturated charge in the air....it has to do with something else...I don't know how the mechanism works so I can not answer ....I'm more curious about excited states of matter and energy in other forms like plasma and other stuff I know nothing about...I don't even know what you mean by insulated.....if he was standing in an open field on top of a hill I don't think he is insulated from any lightning bolt seeking to ground and discharge itself?.....next mind bleed please, adios captain magneto see you tomorrow<g>
