Simon Ridgway – CEO and Chairman
Mr. Simon Ridgway is a prospector, a mining financier and a Casey Research Explorer's League inductee. Grass roots exploration is his first love and he has had a successful career as an explorationist since starting out as a prospector in the Yukon Territory in the late 70s. Simon and the exploration teams under his guidance have discovered gold deposits in Honduras, Guatemala, and Nicaragua. On the financial side, Companies operating under the Gold Group banner have raised over CAD $350 million for exploration and development projects since 2003. Simon is the Chairman of Fortuna Silver Mines
and Focus Ventures and he is the CEO of Radius Gold.
Peter Thiersch, M.Sc. P.Geo – President
Mr. Peter Thiersch has been employed in technical, corporate development and management roles for companies such as Barrick Gold, Radius Gold, Fortuna Silver and Hecla Mining Canada. He obtained a B.Sc. in Geological Sciences from the University of BC in 1986 and an M.Sc. in Economic Geology from McGill University in 1993. He has since specialized in epithermal and porphyry related precious and base metal exploration throughout the Americas, having worked in Canada, Peru, Chile, Mexico and Guatemala, as well as Indonesia. He is currently a director of Hinterland Metals.
Harmen J. Keyser, P.Geol. – Director
Harmen is a geologist with more than 30 years of experience in mineral exploration and development projects on a worldwide basis. He has been involved in the discovery of several significant mineral deposits, including Skukum Creek, Yukon; Cerro Blanco, Guatemala; and San Martin, Honduras. He obtained a B.Sc. in geology from Saint Mary's University in 1981, and is a "qualified person" in accordance with NI 43-101. He works with RedQuest Capital Corp., Precision GeoSurveys Inc, and was recently added onto the Board of Emerick Resources Corp. as a Director.
Ralph Rushton, M.Sc. – Director
Ralph manages investor relations and corporate development work for the Gold Group. He has a B.Sc. in geology from Portsmouth University in the UK, a Master's degree in economic geology from the University of Alberta, and a Certificate in Business Communications from Simon Fraser University. Much of his 20 years' experience in mining and exploration was gained working as a geologist for the Anglo American group in southern Africa, the Middle East and Eastern Europe. Ralph is president of Radius Gold and Emerick Resources.
