As I have show on several occasions, global cooling was a phenomenon of the press. In climatology circles, only a small fraction of papers were on global cooling, most were on global warming. And even then, the number declined over time.

Like I have pointed out, I learned about global warming in the mid-1970s. In the early 1980s the possibility of the ice caps melting causing sudden rises in sea level was in the media. So your connection between the fall of the USSR and global warming just isn't consistent with reality.

Not that you have ever let that stop you before...
