I agree about hyperinflation, but that doesn't mean hyperinflation isn't in our future. A dislocation can happen due to an exogenous event, such as the emergence of a new reserve currency.

The time frame between when a monetary unit is fully believed in to when it is fully repudiated can occur over a few months to a few days (or even hours).

It all depends on how history unfolds. The US is running one slick confidence game, that's certain. It won't last forever. That's also certain.
