A home security system is able to provide alerts about intruders. If you are unable to defend yourself when alerted, you are still vulnerable to smash-and-grab attacks. If intruders know you have no protection once they are inside there is little point. The National Average Police Response time is over 20 minutes for a home alarm system. Once the thieves are in, they know they have time to accomplish what they want.
