If those rioters had not been trying to do serious injury to or kill the soldiers stopping them, there wouldn't have been a problem. The rioters were not unarmed, they just used less effective weapons than those they were trying to attack. Recommendation - do not attack people with better weapons as they are likely to retaliate. You were obviously confused to think they were unarmed, or maybe you don't know how much damage a brick in the side of your head can do. A shame it wasn't Gerry Adams and Martin McGuinness who were in the firing line. They tried to bomb me and did succeed in bombing some NZ tourists in the Tower of London.
