When it comes to the Arab Spring thing I think ALL the credit for that goes to Bush Jr.>

Well, I disagree on that one... IMHO those crazy governments were unsustainable... just like the Shaw of Iran... mostly despotic regimes with populations waiting for an opportunity... and conditions were finally right... Further I'd argue that what is going on now is simply a natural occurence of regime change... we should absolutely defer to those in the area that actually have "an axe"... Libya is the perfect template for US foreign policy going forward... it is the reason that I favor Obama over Romney BY A MILE on foreign policy. Our allies, in the know, in the region had a strong opinion of what should be done... were actually WILLING to do it... and we helped out BECAUSE IT MADE SENSE TO US AS WELL. We were helpers of friends in a region instead of running around making all the decisions first and expecting everyone to follow us. "Leading from behind" or "The Obama Doctrine" if you will, is going to go down in history as a very important AND ACCEPTED policy shift from "we are the kings of the world, shut up and do what we say" to "we are willing to help and lend support where it makes sense for the good of everyone". In a way it's "the great reversal"... "speak softly and carry a big stick"... rather than yell and scream and expect everyone to be like us and they are idiots if they aren't.

One of Romney's great gaffs in my mind was his ridiculous statements about Europe and their 'system doesn't work"... as if democracy just isn't good enough... you should do exactly what we do or we look down our noses at you. Just incredibly stupid and arrogant.

<He's the Moron that said every country should have democracy and that's why we went into Iraq.>

I have to admit that I didn't really follow along during that time... BUT my BS meter was bussing when after the fact the talking heads came on the boob tube talking about the plight of the Iraqi and Afgan women... I knew something was up... that was a quite disgusting after the fact excuse that anyone with any knowledge of ANY foreign affairs & history saw through immediately.... the same "plight" persists throughout north Africa and the middle east and infinitely more women could have been helped for a ZILLIONTH of the cost in any number of countries in the region. In fact... Iraq and Iran are WAY advanced in that respect.

Further, as someone who thinks highly of Ron Paul, the realization that the rest of the world should be free to do what THEY want as far as system of government is a MAJOR reason why I and many libertarians didn't support Republicans... they SAW what republicans actually believed in REAL ACTIONS... and it wasn't pretty. In fact it was IGNORANT... everyone one of those republican candidates stood on that stage during the primary debate and ridiculed Ron Paul... the ONLY ONE who "got it"... he saw the big picture about the Middle East... and of course the FED and economics... but that didn't come out as plainly in that debate.

<Can you imagine what ABSOLUTE democracy in Mississippi would mean??>

Umm, no, actually, never thought about i! LOL
