It isn't a political thing like you want to pretend.
Clearly it is - obama campaigned and spoke on illegal handguns and that rifles are not the problem in Chicago and other major cities.

It correlates with a father less society especially black families - I believe the numbers are up to 70+% now.

Violent crime does not correlate with the availability of guns

Of course not because legally obtained guns are rarely the issue - so making laws to make it tougher to legally obtain them has no effect on the illegal trade.
