Brazil is a country with a small population relative to resources.China and India will need the resources for 100 years.As Brazil gets more resource/agriculture based they go to where they have a comparative advantage (read Mike Porter).Brazilians and Brazilian regulations will never let Brazil compete in most manufactured goods.As Brazilians go rural the Custo Brazil goes down as amongst other things Brazilians get more conservative.The 20 lost years took Brazil credit/GDP down to ? below 30% at one point.Brazilians have already paid the price the US,Japan and Europe must still pay.Brazil need not increase rates as the US,Europe,Japan print to the moon (only question is if there will be a deflationary head fake at some point)Brazil will need to accept a high value currency and will find life pretty good as they need to free up some manufacturing workers.Most world growth is fake, as it is money printing.If US,Europe,Japan look OK Brazil will continue to look good.US needs and will get stagflation just a question of how long it takes and if there is a deflationary head fake first.This will allow all prices to reset to real relative values internal as well as external.GDP per head of the Brazilian could go to US,Japan,Europe levels in our lifetime.It is all relative.On a relative basis Brazil will seem to do OK at least for the rest of our life spans----gold will also, except for a brief drop during any deflationary head fake.Enjoy the ride
