I thought your feelings might have been hurt because of the following angry retort. I like discussing issues with you most of the time and you may have noticed, or not, that I don't retaliate in kind when you call names or demean me personally. If you want to point out what you believe to be a substantial weakness in one of my posts, you know I will respond, but the following is simply wrong so I didn't respond when you posted it... only now because you asked why I would have thought your feelings got hurt.
If I am angry, its not because you attack me but because you are playing a silly game. You start out by saying, much like many conservatives, that this concern about guns is a minor issue and we have much bigger fish to try in this country. Then you present yourself as the voice of reason........a moderate, a centrist...........a pure American without ideology trying to do what's best for the country. And oh yeah.......a hard working American with simple virtues and needs. And then you point to me and do your best to make me look like an ugly partisan who only brings up gun issues because I want to nail the wingers in this country. Much like claiming I am a shut in, you couldn't be more wrong with your evaluation........but you could care less. Most wingers don't care to understand what the rest of us are saying.........they would prefer that we simply shut up and let them do what they want.
And plz..........stop trying to convince me that you are something other than what you are. If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, then its a winger. Trust.
For the past 15 years you all have shown yourself to be fairly incompetent, not well educated, anti democratic and rather war like. Not traits I admire. If you are refering to my 15years of posts and information I have shared with you about my personal point of view then you know that statement and others like it you've posted recently are incorrect.

I don't often talk about my personal characteristics because I think it is a distraction to topical discussion. Just for the record I am educated at the PhD level, have had successful careers, and owned more than one successful small business. I take time to consider the facts and various points of view before offering my own thoughts on these discussions, which I consider better than just reiterating the party platform of the left or right. So, if that means I have a high opinion of myself, I guess you are right. I do appreciate corrections when someone shows me an error in my post or when someone shows me some information I hadn't considered. I have taken care of family, friends, and neighbors all my life. I was a vietnam war protester and have been in the streets to protest more than one military effort since. I vote and engage in the democratic process on a regular basis. I have worked continuously since I was 9 years old. I am now a senior citizen who is still working and I intend to continue as long as I am able. I don't see any need to make comparisons on what you've disclosed about yourself, just clearing the air a bit.
You keep doing this......presenting me your resume? Why? I said: you all have shown yourselves...........which means I am talking about a collective of people who have done everything they can to maintain a culture and way of life that is not beneficial to the vast majority of Americans. That would include Newt Gingrich, GW Bush, Cheney, the GOP, R pols, R pundits, the NRA, Fox News and people like you who support their issues.
BTW operating at the Ph.D level [whatever that means] doesn't guarantee you are intelligent, self aware and well informed. |
