82 Year Old Homeowner Shoots 30 Year Old Intruder Who Assaulted Him 2013 January 30 On January 19th, an elderly homeowner in MO was forced to defend himself when a 30 year old suspect broke into his home and assaulted him. The hoemowner fired a shot at the intruder, striking him in the arm. The suspect then fled the scene, but was captured by police after a brief manhunt. The homeowner was taken to the hospital for treatment of the injuries he sustained in the assault. The homeowner had to be airlifted to a second hospital for head injuries. The suspect is charged with 1st degree assault and 1st degree burglary. We wish this brave homeowner the best in his recovery. We are also glad he was armed or this story could have turned out very differently. No matter how you cut it, an 82 year old is almost always no match for a 30 year old male in good shape in hand to hand fighting. While it sounds like police responded very quickly, the suspect was still able to inflict substantial harm on the homeowner. gunssavelives.net
