my point we should never have the army interact with our public during demonstrations. One point is they are not trained for crowd control. second in both situations these men had live amo. i expect most of them never had much military training back in those days. In the 60's we trained a full year in crowd control. tg we never had to use it. rifles never even have firing pins in them except if going to a driving range.

We know from experience crowd control can be handled much more safely without using bullets.

I believe in most cases, in the united states, the fbi and local police are aware of the ring leaders. many times they have raided places being set up in advance of a demonstration. Once demonstrations begin the leaders look to isolate the trouble makers. Other times the decision is to move the group out or let it run its course.
