Thanks!

Sometimes people notice, sometimes they don't.

They used to notice a LOT less, when for a decade I worked with the stealthiest of all "phonecams," the eyemod, and ended up with about 3k keepers, which started here and ended here.

When they notice, two things can happen. One, they say nothing and we all move along. Two, they say something. Good or bad. I respond by telling them why I just made the photo: I liked something, something was interesting, I did not mean to intrude, so sorry, have a nice day. Only one time it turned out differently. In Amsterdam. I made a snap of a prostitute in a doorway. She grabbed a pail of water and tossed it at me. Missed the camera by that much.

With the 808 I'm as "obvious" to my subjects as I was with a regular camera, or as anyone else with a phonecam is. I don't mind. What I gained over the eyemod is the ability to make dream photos in the dark again. That was nearly impossible with the eyemod, whose ISO was always 100. Now I'm back to the film days range: from ISO 100 to 1600, and pretty much the same amount of sharpness and "grain."

So, I lost stealth, but I regained the night. Fair trade, I think.
