Sometimes we get caught in the situation of needing a short term loan, thus, the following banks have low rate gold cards, with checks, and there is no catch, no balance transfer gimick. I have a Huntington Gold card, got it by phone and the rate is real, all year long.
Wachovia Bank 800 842-3262, 8.5%, $98 yearly fee.
KeyBank 800 539-2968, 8.9%, $30 yearly fee.
Huntington BK 800 480-2265, 9.5%, $70, yearly fee.
In case your asking why did I get the Huntington card at a higher rate? Because the add said 8.5%, but the bank raised it and didn't update the newspaper. I got it anyway because I spent 25 minutes on the phone providing the vital info.
I hope that this will help someone that gets caught in a jam and cannot get a home equity loan at 11%.
