They see themselves as hard working, intelligent, salt of the earth.........the real America. Forget that their views might be extremist.................those views have been forged by their sweat and tears, and have the approval of God.....don't you know.

Honestly, I am always amazed to see descriptions like that presented with such disdain. Sorry you resent those of us who are honest, well educated, hard working, responsible for self and responsive to others, clean living, decent in every way ... don't know if or why God would not approve but there are some religious folk who like to tell me I'm damned, I figure the judge is still out on that but hope for the best.

LOL. The disdain is not for those traits. The disdain is for your belief that only you all have those traits.
