The amazing thing is Miami has a smaller middle class and disproportionately way more who are very poor and also very well off than most any major metro area in the country..

In some ways, LA and Miami are very similar.

Cost of living compared to say Houston, Atlanta or Tampa is much higher but wages at least for those who need to put in an honest days work are usually the same or even lower..

I think Central and South Americans set up shop in Miami because they are very comfortable in Miami. Miami is the most Latin city in the US.
