*AV*--The DUKE boys are only one of about 10 that constantly call up and try their boiler room tactics on me. Each time it is a different person. Just for grins, was DUKEy boy pushing IAD, which has gone down close to a $1 since his "you gotta trust me and get in right now because Alfred Kinsley...you know Alfred, don't you, he and Icahn are buddies.....well, Kingsley is increasing his position and has about 8% of the company now..... You know the rest. Well, it turns out that Kingsley also has a cartload of Bethlehem Steel also and it has gone down since he took his position.
On the list of others is Sands Brothers, JR Robbins, RD White, just to name this week's contestants. I keep tabs on these boys and their picks. 2 for 76 to date. Both Griffin Gaming and Starwood Lodging were winners but nothing compared to the bloodbaths in the other 74 stocks. I listen and use them as the contra indicators. Heaven help me if they ever recommend a stock I own. That will be the notice to sell and short sell the stock immediately.
We should ask the community to list the boiler room companies they have heard from recently and the stocks being promoted. It would make a nice list of those to possibly avoid. How do you know its a boiler room. Real easy, you can hear a great deal of noise in the background which is really other boiler guys on the phone reading from the same script. They don't even give these guys there own private offices, just banks of phones one right next to the other.

Oh Well.....I am sure some computer geek is salivating over the possibility of nailing the binary number 10101 that is coming up real soon. |
