I wouldn't compare analog signals with digital signals in that way. An analog signal in its orginal state IS the pure output and contains 100% of the signal information in continuous form and always the best. Digital on the other hand is a discrete fragmented representation of the orginal analog signal. Converting a digital representation of a pure signal back into analog as with the convertor box would create only a approximated analog replica of that original, pure signal, not as good as the original.

Perhaps this is what you really meant, but it didn't sound that way from the way you wrote it.
