Might we get one hell of a stimulus plan from the money sitting in IRA's though? That stimulates along the lines Krugman likes to stimulate, but much of it is untaxed. That which is taxed, will be lightly taxed as we need less to live on. So CSPAN had a great show on this morning comparing US life expectancy with 16 other industrial countries, mostly in europe, but Japan, Canada and Australia were included. We are at the bottom!!!!!! If that isn't a wake up call we are doing something wrong what is? One other statistic that stood out to me - we pay far less into social programs like preventive stuff than any other country. Something wrong here too huh?
