After I read your message I wondered why it failed. So I logged into netflix again. I was on the Watch Instantly page. So I just selected a movie. It came up with you need silverlight pluggin from microsoft. I installed it and it now streams. problem solved.

Also found out if you proxy in you may come from a country where netflix is not allowed. I switched to a US proxy before it worked
