I've been to LA over 10 times and lived in Miami a couple of years. Maybe palm trees, beaches, not having to shovel snow, a magnet for latino immigrants, large port and international appeal are the similarities. Most everything else from the diversity of the people, the climate, diverse terrain, diversity of the economy, education levels, the creative class and other drivers and to me is no comparison... Only so called 'win' for Miami would be the diversity within the Latino community but even that 'win' is at the expense of everybody else IMHO.. Ok South Beach is better beach scene when it is 85-90 and very humid for 10 months but in LA you can be skiing in Big Bear in two hours and be back for an awesome sunset at the beach...lol

Sounds about right.
