It appears that PCPI is succeeding at developing a printing solution for the
internet. On Sept. 13, PCPI announced an agreement with HDE Inc. of Kent, Washington
to "incorporate HDE's proprietary reDipS Driver Technology on its embedded printer, and
MFS controllers for internet and intranet printing." "The proprietary technology is
uniquely suited to Internet and intranet printing by providing exciting new levels of
user-friendly interaction while maintaining support for all industry standard printer
control and page description languages, such as Adobe PostScript and Hewlett Packard
PCL. The first products with integrated HDE RedipS Driver Technology on PCPI designed
embedded controllers are expected next summer." According to Gordon Hanson, President
of HDE, "PCPI's extensive printer controller development experience and scaleable
controller architectures provide excellent platforms for our customers that are
licensing redipS Driver technology for integrated Web printing.
