The tenants said, "We will buy it if you buy it for us and finish it out the way we want it, and hold it until we get money to buy it. That'll be in 5 years, and we will lease it from you in the meantime." So, I did. I didn't do it by mice elf, mind you. My Aunt Fannie Mae helped me out.
Then, after the first month of leasing it, they said, "We will buy it today for our national headquarters, instead of in 5 years, if you will be the bank." I hadn't expected that, but being a banker was about the only job on my "occupations I detest" list which I still hadn't tried, (other than Republican politician... I'll never do that), so I took them up on it.
I try and rationalize it by being a rural inner-city redevelopment bank, but a bank is still a bank, no matter how you dress it up. |
