Linde is one of the largest industrial gas companies, in the same lague than APD, Praxair, Air Liquide and Tayo Nippon Sanso.

I have mentioned before, why I believe that Industrial Gas is a good business:

Linde has been well managed, as long as I remember. In fact, I remember looking at stock tables around 1980 in our local newspaper and Linde was one of the few stocks going up in what was a very rough market.
I have never purchased the stock, as it always has been a little bit on thr expensive side, but i figure it certainly was worth it's money in 1980, and probably is worth it's money now, if you hold it long enough.

Industrial gas is a business with a moat, due to customer lockin (co-location of equipment on customer premises), economies of scale and the oligopoly a few major companies, that seem to hold the line on pricing, even when demand slows.
