Interesting article. As to the question, why not? But really, I'm not the most informed on such things.

As for displacement of the human mind here on Earth, I think it is still a long ways away. The brain is still the most complex machine (?) we know of and intuition is still largely the exclusive domain of the human mind, at least relative to a computer.

But, I don't really know jack about this.
