What If An iWatch Replaced Most Of The iPhone's Functions?

Earlier this week I wrote about “ the minimum viable product that could constitute an Apple smartwatch.”
I was thinking about physical constraints like size, weight and battery life and tried to imagine what could
be both massively useful and also efficiently minimalist. The vision that emerged for me was one of a
device that could display “micro-apps” (much like the Pebble watch) but operate in concert with one’s
other iOS gadgets, particularly the iPhone.

But when I heard the most recent leak from Apple, that Bloomberg reported that the company now “has

a team of about 100 product designers working on a wristwatch-like device that may perform some of the
tasks now handled by the iPhone and iPad,” I thought that perhaps I was underestimating the scope of
this thing.
