Michael, thanks for your comments. I viewed the Keane relationship with Vantive as interesting because Vantive is a BROC competitor. As for the timing of your investment in BROC, my skill at timing is limited. I am usually successful at identifying under valued companies to buy or over valued companies to short and then just sitting on the position until it moves my way, but I am not very good at picking the time of the move. BROC has moved sideways for almost a year now, I think it will be much higher by mid 1998 but I don't know if the move will start tomorrow or in April.

My solution to my lack of timing skills is to move in and out of positions in small steps over time. You might consider just taking a very small position in BROC now so as to make it worth your while to continue studying it and then increase the position later as funds are available and BROC's potential is borne out by performance.
