Actually, they do give us lots of special perks for being a loyal and high frequency passenger with them... we have free laundry privileges on board... that may not sound like much, but you don't have to do your own laundry and the laundry service can otherwise be extremely expensive... we just put our stuff in a bag and leave it on the bed every morning and the room steward comes in and picks it up, he returns it the next day... when you're on an extended cruise, it's a great perk...
Also, there's a small refrigerator in each cabin stocked with booze, sodas, all kinds of things... for us it's free... also, we get boarding and disembarking privileges at ports that require tenders... we also get free canapes in our cabin in the afternoons, it's nice to have those snacks, as if there's not enough food on board in the first place... we also get special big discounts on anything we buy at the shops on board... and so on... all passengers are generally treated the same, but when we show our Elite Princess Card they attend to us with speed and top priority... so, it's nice... when we board the ship, we wear our Elite pin so they know who we are, when they see us they tell us, "Welcome home!"
On a few cruises we were "the most traveled" couple on board, so they gave us a special private lunch with the Captain and gave us a big beautiful plaque which we now have at home, champagne, and so on... they really do make a fuss for us...
