I know he got himself banned, but his input was excellent. I'd appreciate it if the new moderator would reach out to him, unban him, and bring him back on board.
I will second this. Michal got himself banned arguing with a few posters who, in my opinion, should have been banned in the first place. His unique perspective was additive.

While we are on the subject, I will make a proposal here that I made to Allen. Every once in a while, there is a poster that just gets everyone pissed off. It is not just a matter of a differing opinion which I think is a wonderful thing. On most boards, these posters would be considered trolls - just coming here to elicit some sort of response even if it is negative. And, they add absolutely nothing to the board.

Allen was a great moderator but was a bit too accommodating. I think we should be able to ban someone for being overly obnoxious. To make sure that this decision was not in the hands of just one person, I suggested that the decision to ban such an individual be presented to a small group of regulars or old timers on this board. 3? 5? I don't really care and, you could require that the decision had to be unanimous.

To reiterate, this would not be a mechanism to get rid of someone with just a difference in opinion (which should be treasured) or who is negative on AAPL. This would be simply to get rid of those posters that we all recognize as having no redeeming qualities at all.
