IMVHO This whole thing started due to a faux pas (oh those French) -
Allen had Clean behind the curtains as moderator and when Clean came out as moderator, there was no general announcement and all the
"Oh my - well I never!"
"And without a proper introduction, why this is scandalous!"

You think that if it was announced that "with the passing of Allen to the place where is now rubbing elbows with Steve Jobs and various really cute angels (not Charlie's, sorry Allen), Allen had pre appointed Clean to take up the thankless, futile, underpaid and stressful job of moderator, so let's all welcome Clean with our Bronx cheer!" that there would be all these posts and discussions and plans and voting schemes and this very post that you are reading right now?

Give the Clean guy a chance and I'm sure he's grownup and mature (both are necessary conditions of course) enough to realize if it doesn't work out, all by himself, he'll stop being the Apple thread's Yahweh and step down to allow someone else to take up this highly coveted and paid position.
I hear the position's salary is doubled quite frequently!
And hey if Clean makes controversial decisions, take it like men and women and behave the same way when Allen made his decisions. No I do not mean screaming and crying all over the place. Should have said "better than" rather than "same way".
If Clean refuses to relinquish his iron, eh, liquid metal grip on this board which I severely doubt would happen, well there are SI channels, and if they don't work, remember that it is the right of the posters to alter or abolish this board OR to introduce a new board, laying its foundations on such principals and organizing its powers in such as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness. (Me? Plagiarize?)

A position that even my wonderful kindergarden teacher who had firm control over her charges would not think take on, after all the kids here on this board are for the most part no longer small and cute and often they smell funny.
So besides the people nominating other people - what I'm seeing - is there really anybody here whose heart is breaking and aching and wants that lucrative salary (it doubled again by itself) to take up the position of moderator of the SI Apple Inc moderated board????? |
