Len, I think "semitic" is rather a left-over from the early 60's, and after that it really had very little meaning, don't you think?
All I know is that semite is from Shem, who had the only godly blessing by Noah, and his brother, Japeth, got the blessing that God would "enlarge" Japeth, and he would dwell in the tents of Shem, which to me explains the hostile marriage of the Jews and the Christians, whether they have liked it or not, through the 2000 year period. And who turned Christian on the face of the Earth--mostly all of Europe, period.
The entire hippy movement was at least 50% rich Jewish kids living on an inheritance and that kind of thing killed the barriers established for 2000 years right there. Does it still exist in any real way? I'm curious, because I just don't see any signs of it except among skinhead groups, and they are totally nuts and so loaded with garbled conspiracy data-- most of which is horribly is true as far as my studies have shown--but theirs has just been pretty twisted up, and somehow Hitler, of all things, gets in there mixed up with the Cross, and they go around shouting the name of Jesus now and then like He is the founder of the Skinhead Party, and it is as disturbing as the vampire cults. I think it needs tons of prayer.
And of course as a Christian for many years I have seen nothing but extreme love shown to anyone Jewish, and most especially the Jewish brethren, who tend to be even more beloved.
So, I guess that's all I know about that, and not much. What do you think?
I think it's weird the word is totally associated with and only with someone who is "Jewish" while it means all the whole Mediterannean basin, and takes in tons of people. |
