Netscape Communications Corp. shares fell as much as 10 percent after a Wall Street analyst cut his rating, citing uncertainty about the Internet software maker's ability to fend off Microsoft Corp. Merrill Lynch & Co. analyst Bruce Smith lowered his rating on Netscape to medium-term ``neutral'' from ``accumulate'' and long-term ``neutral'' from ``buy.'' Netscape's sales and earnings prospects beyond the next six to nine months are at risk because of competition from Microsoft,
