Yes, but it makes perfect sense, as by the time that Bernanke is done, the Dollar coin will equal the current value of the penny.

There is a beautiful symmetry in that idea <NG>

One outside the box idea on gold is that somewhere, someone has a leak about a Fed pullback. Crazy, yes, but if I had to guess, I'm not sure the Fed wants the WSJ and the like screaming about a market disconnected from reality.

Bernanke only has a year left. The question is how does Bernanke protect his legacy and get Knighted like his hero? So, if you built a timebomb, and it is a timebomb, what do you do when the clock starts ticking down?

Anyway, the people are not fooled by the inflation stats, so that is a factor too.
