I think your statement is really that fundamentals no longer exist.

Perhaps that is true. Or that is true for a limited time.

Did I expect Bernanke to go 85 billion forever? No, I did not. That level was beyond anything I could have imagined. Error made and noted. Still, it's an easy error to make when you hold a higher percentage of gold and expect it to participate.
