2/15/13 Contest Update
Question of the week: As gold plunges and PCYC rockets higher, how long will it take for the price of a PCYC share to eclipse that of an ounce of gold?
At Friday’s close, helped by INCY’s jump (held by a dozen Contest portfolios), the Contest median was up 9.33% YTD (vs. up 7.35% YTD a week ago). The Nasdaq Biotech Index was up 6.24% (vs. up 6.96% YTD a week ago), while the Nasdaq Composite Index finished the week up 5.71% YTD (vs. up 5.77% YTD a week ago).
An INCY holder, FILO’s portfolio, up 26.13% YTD, grabbed the Contest lead. MOPGCW’s portfolio, up 25.78% YTD, dropped to second place and RKRW’s portfolio, up 21.43% YTD, slipped to third place.
At Friday's close, 32 of the 39 Contest portfolios were in the black with 24 of the 39 beating the NBI.
